Pittsburgh Divorce Attorney Appointed President-elect of AAML

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh divorce attorney Brian C. Vertz has been appointed president-elect of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – Pennsylvania Chapter. He will serve as president-elect until July 2018, after which he will advance to the position of president. Vertz, a partner at downtown Pittsburgh family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC and author of “Divorce Taxation,” previously held the secretary position and second vice president within the organization.
He will also continue as national chair of the Amicus Committee of AAML and co-chair of the national AAML Practice & Technology Committee. Vertz has been a fellow of the AAML since 2003 and is one of only three AAML-trained arbitrators in western Pennsylvania.
Founding Pollock Begg Partner David S. Pollock continues his tenure as treasurer of Pennsylvania chapter of the AAML after being re-elected at the July 2017 meeting. He is celebrating a decade on the board. Pollock is also a fellow of the AAML, as well as of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, for which he serves on the Board of Governors and the Finance Committee of the USA chapter.
The AAML advocates policies that promote the rights of children and families facing divorce. AAML membership is limited to those recognized by judges and attorneys as prominent family law practitioners with a high level of knowledge, skill and integrity. There are currently only 1,600 members amongst 50 states.
