Pollock Begg Attorneys Contribute to New Manual on Custody Law and Practice

Todd M. Begg, Benjamin E. Orsatti authors in book published by PBI Press

PITTSBURGH — Attorneys from family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC are authors in a new custody book from the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) Press. Partner Todd M. Begg and associate Benjamin E. Orsatti both contributed to “Custody Law and Practice in Pennsylvania,” released earlier this year. The book contains a history of the old and new statutes and answers to substantive, procedural, tactical, and ethical questions family law attorneys face during custody litigation.

Nearly 30 of Pennsylvania’s expert family law attorneys contributed to the book, which is available for purchase on the PBI website. The publication contains a comprehensive analysis of the new child custody act, which creates structure and guidance for practitioners, pro se litigants, and the court. Many of the additions to the new custody act implement concepts from the prior statute and from case law that has been developed over the years. The book analyzes major issues of custody law and practice and is an interactive resource for family law attorneys in Pennsylvania.

Begg has over 20 years of experience in divorce, equitable distribution, and custody matters. He has been named to Pennsylvania Super Lawyers every year since 2005 and has ranked as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2008. He is also a regular speaker at continuing legal education programs for the PBI and recently moderated an expert panel on complex custody evaluation at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Winter Meeting.

Orsatti’s practice consists of divorce, equitable distribution custody and support cases. He has authored and co-authored numerous other articles for PBI’s Continuing Legal Education programs and publications and is a regular contributor to, as well as co-editor of, the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer. He was also named to the list of 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Stars.
