Family Law Firm Pollock Begg Adds to Leadership

PITTSBURGH — Downtown family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC has named Joseph R. Williams as partner in the firm. The firm name will not change. Williams has made a rapid ascension to partner status since beginning his career at the firm as a law clerk in 2008. He was promoted to associate in 2009 after being admitted to the bar and has remained with the firm for his entire career.

“Joe has continually proven himself as a strong representative of Pollock Begg through his prominence, his leadership and his legal work as well as his commitment to clients and the community,” said David S. Pollock, founding partner. “Thirty is quite young to make partner in a family law firm. Joe may be one of the youngest partners in Pittsburgh — this is a position that he has earned through his exceptional work ethic, leadership and contributions to the firm.”

A natural leader, Williams has also rapidly risen within the ranks of both the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar associations. He is the chair of the ACBA Young Lawyers Division, which serves nearly 2,000 young attorneys in the county.

“As a young associate, I was given the opportunity to learn from all of the partners in the firm,” Williams said. “Working closely under each of them provided me a unique opportunity to incorporate their best assets into my own practice, helping me become the lawyer I am today. I’m proud to stand alongside them in my new role and help lead Pollock Begg into the future.”

Williams has been named to the list of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars since 2012. He was named a Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer in 2013, an honor bestowed upon just 38 lawyers. A talented writer, Williams also consistently authors for legal publications as well as mainstream media.

Williams received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bethany College in 2006. In 2009, he graduated from the Duquesne University School of Law, where he remains actively involved and serves on the Duquesne Law Alumni Association Board of Directors.
