Pollock Begg Komar Glasser to Launch New Name

PITTSBURGH — Pollock Begg Komar Glasser LLC will have a new name in 2012 when partner Brian C. Vertz joins the other four partners in the firm’s name. Effective Jan. 1, 2012, the Downtown-based, family-practice law firm will launch itself as Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC (Pollock Begg).

For nearly two decades, Vertz has been representing men and women in divorce litigation where complex financial issues are resolved. As an Accredited Valuation Analyst, he is armed with an outstanding business acumen for addressing these challenging types of financial negotiations.

“Brian is an integral part of this firm and his financial savvy raises the bar for effective legal representation,” said David Pollock, one of the firm’s founding partners. “Having true compassion for his clients and the children who are affected by divorce, Brian helps people regain control of their lives and begin a new chapter.”

Vertz began his law career as an associate of Wittlin Goldston Caputo & Pollock PC in 1992 and later joined Reed Smith Shaw & McClay LLP in 1994, along with Pollock. They both left that firm in 1998 to form David S. Pollock & Associates, the precursor to Pollock Begg Komar Glasser LLC. Vertz joined Pollock Begg Komar Glasser in 2001, nine months after the founding of the firm.

Vertz focuses his practice on family law in western Pennsylvania, including the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Centre, Fayette, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland. He handles all financial and personal aspects of divorce, including property division, alimony, child support, spousal support, settlements, prenuptial agreements, custody and appeals.
