Pittsburgh Family Law Attorney David Pollock Appointed to Committee to Advise PA Supreme Court

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh family law attorney David S. Pollock, founding partner of family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, has been appointed as a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee, serving a three-year term.

Pollock was chosen for the committee from a pool of applicants based upon expertise, knowledge of the law and recognition by the justices of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

“This appointment is an important undertaking that will positively impact all participants in adult family law proceedings before the courts of common pleas throughout Pennsylvania,” said Pollock. “I consider it not just an honor, but an essential responsibility to the bench, the bar and the citizens of Pennsylvania.”

The Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee advises the Supreme Court on matters related to the procedural rules on governing actions for divorce, support, custody, paternity and protection from abuse. The committee’s primary goal is to simplify family law practice by recommending new rules or amendments to existing procedural rules relating to family law matters, striving to maintain open channels of communication with those who work with or are affected by the rules it proposes.

Pollock has a zealous commitment to service and leadership, particularly within the legal industry, and his tenure within many local, national and international committees and organizations has become a trademark of his extensive career. Some of these positions include: Board of Governors and Finance Committee of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, North America; Finance Committee of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and treasurer of its Pennsylvania Chapter; Family Law sections of both the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations (past chair and treasurer); fellow of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, the AAML and the IAFL. He has served as editor-in-chief of Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, the official publication of the PBA, Family Law Section, for more than 23 years.
