Leadership & Philanthropy
Our Commitment to the Community
Pollock Begg continually strives to improve the legal community and the region we call home. Our attorneys serve in leadership positions within numerous matrimonial law organizations along with state and local bar associations and are encouraged to participate in pro bono work and volunteer endeavors.
Legal Thought Leaders
Advancing the practice of family law, our attorneys are engaged with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Many of our ranks are members of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwest Pennsylvania, with one of our partners serving as president of this organization championing conflict resolution through cooperation and transparency.
Members of the Pollock Begg team take an active role in the family law divisions of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania bar associations, including leadership roles as President of the ACBA and Chair of the PBA Family Law Section. Many of our attorneys serve on various committees within the bar associations and provide leadership within the ACBA’s LGBTQIA+ Rights Committee, PBA Minority Bar Committee and Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial & Ethnic Fairness. Always committed to enhancing legal education and refining the legal process, Pollock Begg partners have served the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as chairs of its Continuing Legal Education Board and Procedural Rules Committee.
A Culture of Service
Pollock Begg attorneys contribute to the health and well-being of the Pittsburgh community in a variety of ways, including volunteering their expertise in the Allegheny County Pro Se Clinic, Uptown Legal Clinic, Neighborhood Legal Services, Christian Legal Aid of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership.
Supporting families and children in need is a focus of our firm. One of our partners leads the AAML Foundation, a nonprofit awarding grants to agencies assisting needy families and children facing domestic violence, parental conflict and barriers to legal services. Our team gives generously to the Allegheny County Bar Foundation for its local charitable efforts. Serving in capacities coinciding with their individual interests and passions, our attorneys serve on the boards of nonprofits such as Adelphoi Village, participate in charitable giving circles like Inspired Women and defend civil liberties by taking on legal issues to protect voter rights.
Pollock Begg is a proud sponsor of annual events supporting the arts, Resolve Pittsburgh, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Animal Friends, 412 Food Rescue and more.
