PITTSBURGH – Experienced custody and divorce litigator and certified collaborative law attorney Elisabeth W. Molnar joined Pittsburgh family law firm Pollock Begg as a partner effective January 1, 2024.

Molnar brings 20 years of dedicated family law experience and an enthusiasm for helping families through difficult transitions to Pollock Begg. Her practice focuses on complex divorce, support and custody cases.

Recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers honoree every year since 2019, Molnar complements her background and skill in civil litigation with certification in collaborative law, providing clients with representation options to meet their unique needs and circumstances.

“The addition of Elisabeth and her practice to Pollock Begg is significant for the firm not only today, but for many years into the future,” said Pollock Begg Partner Joseph R. Williams. “Elisabeth has distinguished herself as a highly skilled attorney and leader in the practice of family law throughout western Pennsylvania and is an excellent complement to the talented team of professionals we employ.”

Molnar appreciates the challenge of difficult custody cases, including those involving testimony from expert witnesses, such as psychologists and social workers. From the most complicated custody dispute involving mental illness or allegations of abuse to the tangled financials involved in business valuation, Molnar skillfully breaks down complex cases and guides clients to successful resolutions with open, honest communication throughout the process.

A Duquesne University School of Law graduate, Molnar worked for a year at a Pittsburgh civil litigation firm where she developed a talent for and found satisfaction in leading successful cross-examinations. Finding the most fulfillment in family law cases, she joined Raphael, Ramsden & Behers in 2004, focusing exclusively on family law matters for the next two decades and delving into alternative dispute resolution with her collaborative law training. Taking an active role in hiring, mentoring and training young associates, she was named as a partner at Raphael, Ramsden & Behers in 2010 and promoted to shareholder in 2017.

Along the way, she worked to level the legal playing field for children and families in need, serving on the board of directors of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership. Additionally, she served as chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Family Law Section for two years and served as co-chair of its Children’s Issues Subcommittee.

“My passion for helping families through delicate and complicated family transitions has guided the trajectory of my career, and Pollock Begg feels like the place where I can contribute more of my skills as a matrimonial law attorney,” Molnar said. “I look forward to collaborating with this group of gifted attorneys who are a trusted resource dedicated to the betterment of family law practice in Pittsburgh.”
