Pittsburgh Divorce Attorney Brian C. Vertz Appointed to PA Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Laws

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh divorce attorney Brian C. Vertz, partner in Pittsburgh family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Laws.

The Joint State Government Commission is the primary and central nonpartisan research and policy development agency for both chambers of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

Comprised of attorneys, judges and law school professors from across the Commonwealth, the Advisory Committee provides expertise and advice in formulating legislation related to domestic relations and includes subcommittees focusing on alimony, custody, dissolution of marriage and property rights. The advisory committee’s past reports resulted in major revisions to Pennsylvania’s divorce code and the enactment of a comprehensive child custody act.

The full advisory committee meets annually in Harrisburg with subcommittees meeting regularly throughout the year.
