Joseph Williams Elected to ACBA Young Lawyers Division Council

PITTSBURGH — Joseph R. Williams was elected to serve a two-year term on the Young Lawyers Division Council of the Allegheny County Bar Association. For 2011-12, Williams will also serve as the liaison between Duquesne Law School and the ACBA Young Lawyers Division.

Williams is an associate attorney with Downtown-based Pollock Begg Komar Glasser LLC. Williams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Bethany College and his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law. Prior to being admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in October 2009, he was a law clerk with the firm. He is a member of both the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations.

Through the ACBA, Williams is active in the Family Law Section and the Young Lawyers Division where he serves as a member of the Young Lawyers Division Public Service Committee. He is a member of the Allegheny County Chapter of Matrimonial Inns of Court, which strives to enhance professionalism, knowledge, and ethics among the bench and bar. In 2010, Williams was selected as one of 15 young lawyers in Allegheny County to participate in the Bar Leadership Initiative 2010-11 Class.

Williams has authored several articles on family law topics. In 2008, Williams authored the alimony case law update for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s General Practitioners Update. In 2010, Williams authored the support case law update for the Allegheny County Bar Association Bench and Bar Conference Family Division Sound-Off.
