Pittsburgh Family Law Attorney Joseph R. Williams Honored with Duquesne Kline School of Law Outstanding Achievement Award

PITTSBURGH – Duquesne Kline School of Law will bestow its Outstanding Achievement Award on Pollock Begg Partner Joseph R. Williams during the Duquesne Law Alumni Association Reunion Dinner on Friday, September 27.

The Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to an attorney who has practiced law for 19 years or less and distinguished himself or herself through achievements in the legal profession. Factors such as contributions in one’s church, occupation or business and service to Duquesne Kline School of Law are considered as well.

“As a proud graduate of Duquesne Law, it’s incredibly meaningful to be acknowledged with this award,” Williams said. “I am very grateful for my time at Duquesne and so pleased to be able to give back through my ongoing involvement in the alumni association.”

A skilled litigator, Williams has devoted his legal career solely to family law; he was promoted to partner at Pollock Begg in 2015.

Williams served in several leadership roles within the Allegheny County Bar Association before becoming its 113^th president in 2021. Williams is also a past president of the Duquesne Law Alumni Association. Recognized for excellence from the outset of his career, Williams has earned Pennsylvania Super Lawyers accolades since 2012 and was designated a Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer in 2013. He has been ranked in the Best Lawyers in America listings since 2018, including his recognition as Pittsburgh “Lawyer of the Year” for Family Law Arbitration in 2024.

“Joe has always appreciated the education that he received from Duquesne Law, which has been a special bond that he and I have shared since he joined the firm as a second-year law student,” said David S. Pollock, a founding partner who will celebrate his 50^th year of practice when he joins his fellow 1974 graduates at the DLAA Reunion Dinner. “Seeing all that Joe has accomplished since has been meaningful for me and our other partners.”
