Pollock Begg Attorneys Prepare ‘Wills for Heroes’

PITTSBURGH — Several attorneys from family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC are participating in the March 9 Wills for Heroes event, which will provide free basic estate planning services to local first responders. Volunteer attorneys, paralegals, notaries and law students will prepare wills, living wills, health care and financial power of attorney documents to first responders and their spouses.

The event is a program of the Wills for Heroes Foundation and co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s (PBA) Young Lawyers Division.

Now in its fifth year in Pennsylvania, this Saturday’s event is one of nearly a dozen scheduled throughout the state in 2013. The Allegheny County committee usually services between 100 and 200 personnel at several Pittsburgh-area locations each year.

“Estate planning documents are essential for everyone, particularly first responders who put their lives on the line every day to protect the public,” said Angelica L. Revelant, Pollock Begg associate and Allegheny County Wills for Heroes coordinator. “This program provides them with the opportunity to make these critical plans for themselves, their families and their loved ones.”
