Pollock Begg Partner Joseph Williams Receives ACBA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh family law attorney Joseph R. Williams, partner of downtown Pittsburgh family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, received the 2017 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award at the Allegheny County Bar Association annual meeting on February 23, 2017.

The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award is given each year to a member of the ACBA who has been practicing law for 10 years or less. There are approximately 1,800 eligible young lawyers in Allegheny County. The award recognizes an individual who has distinguished him or herself through service to the bar association, involvement in the community and excellence in the profession.

“I feel both privileged and humbled to receive this award,” said Williams. “There are many young lawyers in Allegheny County with successful careers who give back to the community and to be recognized among them is a true honor.”

Williams’ diverse, comprehensive family law practice includes all types of economic cases, custody and visitation, protection from abuse and support. As an active and well-respected member of the legal community, he has served as chair of the ACBA Young Lawyers Division. During his tenure as chair, the division was recognized as first place in the American Bar Association for service to the bar.

Williams has been named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list since 2012. In 2013, he was named to Lawyers on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer, an honor bestowed upon just 38 attorneys statewide. He also actively serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Council and as treasurer of the Duquesne Law Alumni Association Board of Governors.
