PITTSBURGH — Pollock Begg Associate Morgan M. Bonekovic will receive the 2022 Young Leader Award from the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Homer S. Brown Division at its 18th annual Black History Month celebration on Thursday, February 24.

Named for an esteemed civil and political rights activist who was the first African American judge in Pittsburgh, the Homer S. Brown Division develops education, networking and public service programs to assist members of the ACBA, the local African American community and law students of African descent.

The HSBD Young Leader Award recognizes an individual who exhibits leadership qualities and a commitment to the promotion of equality and advancement of justice. The award is presented to a Division member who is under age 40 and actively participates in the Division and at least one other ACBA committee, division or section.

“We are thrilled our own Morgan Bonekovic will be honored with this prestigious award recognizing bar involvement and service to the community,” said Pollock Begg Partner and ACBA President Joseph R. Williams. “Morgan’s activism is an asset to her clients, our firm and our region.”

In addition to participating in the Homer S. Brown Division, Morgan serves on ACBA’s Family Law and LGBT Rights committees. In 2021, Morgan was elected to serve on the ACBA Young Lawyers Division Council and to represent the Young Lawyers Division on the ACBA Judiciary Committee.

Morgan is a 2020 graduate of ACBA’s Bar Leadership Initiative and is a committee member of the Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial & Ethnic Fairness.

See Morgan’s online profile for more information on her comprehensive family law practice, including divorce, equitable distribution, support, custody and protection from abuse cases.
