PITTSBURGH — Congratulations to Partner Candice L. Komar, the newly minted treasurer of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section! Elected to the post at the PBA’s 2021 summer meeting, Candice embraces a new opportunity to continue her stellar record of family law advocacy, mentorship and leadership.
This leadership position is a logical progression for Candice who has been active in the Family Law divisions of both the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations throughout her career and has served on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Continuing Legal Education Board since 2019.
Both a certified mediator and a fierce litigator, Candice excels at divorces involving valuation of closely held businesses, complex custody and child support litigation and custody relocation.
Her reputation for successfully crafting legal strategies leveraging the interests of both parties resulted in her being voted 2022 Pittsburgh “Lawyer of the Year” in Family Law Mediation through The Best Lawyers in America peer review process.
Candice’s legal experience is complemented by a constellation therapy certification, providing her a deeper understanding of her clients’ motivations. With her unique perspective and understanding of the sensitivity surrounding family law, Candice shines in the collaborative divorce process. She is a member of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania and a sought-after speaker and lecturer on negotiation and conflict resolution whose work has been featured in both Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Pittsburgh Magazine.
