Pittsburgh Family Law Attorney Brian Vertz to Speak on Tax Reform During Upcoming Webinars

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh family law attorney Brian C. Vertz, partner of Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, will be speaking during several upcoming webinars throughout the month of February on the redefined tax laws recently passed.  Some will impact tax preparations for this year as they have already taken effect. Other elements of the changes will not take full effect until next year.

One of the new tax regulations aims to reduce the cost of alimony payments in the highest income bracket and will play a major role in family law, specifically in upcoming divorce settlements.

“The repeal reduces the bargaining power of vulnerable spouses, mostly women, in achieving financial stability after a divorce,” Vertz said. The law also eliminates the tax alimony recipients are required to pay on the money.

Vertz and his peers presenting at these seminars with both local and national organizations will address topics covering new tax brackets, exemptions and dependency, deductions, alimony, new pitfalls and complexities as well as best practices.
