The Pittsburgh divorce attorneys at our family law firm, Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, are engaged members of the local and national legal community and have garnered a revered reputation as industry thought leaders. We are proud of our firm’s commitment to the advancement of the legal profession, particularly in our area of concentration, family law.

We encourage our family law attorneys whenever possible to not just participate as audience members, learning at meetings, but to present research, teach fellow attorneys, and advocate for change when needed. At the recent Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section summer meeting in Richmond, Va., three of our attorneys took leadership roles in conference discussions and seminars.

Partner Todd M. Begg presented a seminar on client relations, particularly with regard to ethical obligations in fee collections. A founding partner of our firm, Todd previously held a senior attorney position at Buchanan Ingersoll (now Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney PC) and served as part of the matrimonial law group at Reed Smith. Todd has previously lectured on custody, support and discovery for the local and state bar associations.

Partner Brian C. Vertz participated in a panel discussion on discovery in complex financial cases from requests to production, report and testimony. Brian is well respected as a leading speaker on the financial, tax-related aspects of family law, particularly in complex cases. He has updated and expanded the life’s work of the late Melvyn B. Frumkes in the book “Divorce Taxation” and maintains a separate blog, focused solely on the financial and tax-related issues in family law.

Associate Robert D. Raver moderated a panel addressing and exploring the increasing prevalence of third parties in custody and support maters, including grandparents. With a practice spanning all aspects of matrimonial law, including equitable distribution, custody and support, Robert is also certified in collaborative law.

If you are entering divorce or custody negotiations, make sure you have a knowledgeable team of family law attorneys. As the largest Pittsburgh-based law firm dedicated solely to family law, our firm is adept at complex separation and divorce cases, particularly with high net worth individuals.
