All Partners at Pittsburgh Family Law Firm Pollock Begg Named to Best Lawyers in America List

PITTSBURGH  —  All six partners at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, a Pittsburgh family law firm, were selected for inclusion in the 2018 edition of Best Lawyers in America for family law. The firm’s youngest partner, Joseph R. Williams, who has only been practicing for eight years has also been named to the lists for family law, family law arbitration and family law mediation.

Partners David S. Pollock, Todd M. Begg, Candice L. Komar, Daniel H. Glasser and Brian C. Vertz were recognized among the list of practitioners for legal excellence in the area of family law.

Best Lawyers usually does not recommend the nomination of lawyers practicing fewer than 10 years as it is extremely rare for those lawyers to receive enough votes from peers for recognition. Williams was nominated for the first time this year and received enough votes for the family law list as well as the sub categories of family law arbitration, which was added for the first time in 2017, and family law mediation.

Williams joined Pollock Begg as a law clerk in 2008, was promoted to associate in 2009 after being admitted to the bar, and joined the leadership ranks as partner in 2014. His rapid ascension has not gone unnoticed by his peers. Williams has been named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list since 2012. In 2013, he was named to Lawyers on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer, an honor bestowed upon just 38 attorneys statewide. In 2017, Williams received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Allegheny County Bar Association.  He now adds the honor of three listings in the Best Lawyers in America to his accolades as well.

The legal team at Pollock Begg is consistently named to the list, with all five named partners honored for the past nine years. Pollock has now been recognized on the list for more than 20 years.

Best Lawyers, originally published in 1983, is derived from surveys in which leading attorneys submit votes regarding the legal acumen of other lawyers in their respective specialties. They are reviewed on the basis of professional expertise, and undergo an authentication process to make sure they are in current practice and in good standing. Lawyers are neither required, nor allowed, to pay a fee to be listed; therefore, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.
