Pollock Begg Attorneys Receive Top Honors in Family Law on 2022 Best Lawyers List

PITTSBURGH — Pollock Begg is well represented in the 2022 edition of The Best Lawyers in America with seven of the firm’s divorce attorneys named to the prestigious guide and Pollock Begg partners sweeping the “Lawyer of the Year” awards in every family law subcategory in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

Partners Todd M. Begg, Daniel H. Glasser, Candice L. Komar, David S. Pollock, Heather Trostle Smith, Brian C. Vertz and Joseph R. Williams each earned spots in the 2022 guide released today by Best Lawyers.

Attorneys on The Best Lawyers in America list are divided by geographic region and practice areas, reviewed by their peers on the basis of professional expertise and undergo an authentication process to ensure they are in current practice and in good standing. Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has developed a reputation as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals.

Glasser, Komar and Williams were selected for “Lawyer of the Year” honors based on particularly impressive voting averages received during peer review assessments. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant.

Glasser was voted “Lawyer of the Year” in Family Law, while Komar clinched the “Lawyer of the Year” designation in Family Law Mediation and Williams secured the “Lawyer of the Year” title in Family Law Arbitration.

A founding member of Pollock Begg, Glasser has negotiated and tried family law cases involving complex issues such as business valuation, tax and equitable distribution for more than two decades. He has negotiated and litigated hundreds of custody matters and briefed and argued numerous appeals in the state appellate courts.

Komar is a founding member of Pollock Begg recognized statewide as a leading practitioner, litigator, educator, commentator and negotiator.  Trained in both mediation and collaborative law, Komar is skilled in developing strategies that take both side’s interests into account in achieving a successful resolution for her clients.

Williams is a partner at Pollock Begg with a diverse, comprehensive family law practice including divorce and equitable distribution cases, custody and visitation, protection from abuse and support. While known as a tenacious litigator, Williams is trained and certified by the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania and well poised to negotiate to keep a case out of court. He also currently serves as president of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Glasser, Komar and Williams join Partner Brian C. Vertz in the “Lawyer of the Year” ranks. Vertz was named Pittsburgh “Lawyer of the Year” in Family Law in 2019.
